SEO - for *short term* campaigns?
I've been working on SEO in a really tough market (Web Design & Software) for a few years now.
It's expensive, time consuming and worst, it takes 9 months + to even find out if you've got anything. I"ve mostly depended on stuff like directories (including the big $$ ones) article marketing, reciprocal links (though not for some time now), forums, etc. I could dig ditches and make better money this way. I rely almost exclusively on NON Internet techniques. What am I missing? |

I dont understand your question. SEO is all internet based so how can you use non-internet techniques.
Are you talking about SEO or ways to get traffic to your site? |

Short term seo campaigns include social bookmarking in my opinion.
You can see the results almost within a day if you do it right. |

Well, I'm really glad I joined this forum as I thought as far as SEO was concerned...it was more of a mid to long term strategy. Good to know that there are also short term SEO techniques. Will keep an eye out on this thread with interest for any developments...

well, there are many short term strategies, firstly design a one page site, have proper on-page optimization, use keywords which are not so popular, promote them via, forum/blog postings, write articles on the Niche... maintain a blog alongside the site and update it regularly. add RSS feeds. this will take almost an hour or two, but do all manual submissions to directories.. these will help you in polishing your SEO skills and very son you will playing in the major league!
