GoDaddy vs HostGator

I bought my 1st 2 domains from GoDaddy and bought 1 month hosting. I'm uncertain if to continue hosting with GoDaddy or if I should switch my hosting to HostGator. Anyone?

I am not sure what kind of website do you have but if it is just a simple website or a blog, you can just remain with Godaddy. There isn't much difference.

As long as you are on a monthly hosting plan, stay where you are until you can shop around to find the best prices and features to suit your needs for the future. There are hundreds of hosting companies, research and compare.

I like HostGator for hosting, although I use GoDaddy as my domain registrar.

I am not a godaddy fan for hosting. Lots of other great companies around. site5 or midphase are much better. IMHO anyway.

The thing I did not like about Godaddy was they will often block incoming emails. My partner uses Hostgator and I use another company and have never had this problem. I tested it with various email accounts. You definitely don't want to lose a potential sale because they decided before you even saw the email that it was spam and deleted it.

HostGator is ok, their Baby Plan allows unlimited domains and hosting, however its like $280 up front for a 3 year plan, I dont like being locked into contracts like that. Depends on what your doing with your sites I guess. The thing I hate about Godaddy is their site has so much clutter on it, their selling 57 different things on every page, it hurts my eyes! LoL

I don't know about HostGator, but I hate GoDaddy. I hosted one website with them, and I had to jump through so many hoops.

HostGator is very good than GoDaddy. HostGator has no problem on hosting sites that have certain scripts which I've heard doesn't work on GoDaddy hosting servers. I am not sure but like I said I've read it somewhere.
