What has worked for you?

After seeing a lot of helpful tips on this forum, I thought it would be interesting to see what is "actually" working for everyone. So my question is, in building a list, what types of value did you deliver, and how was it successful?

For example, one of my first projects was in the market of wheatgrass, how to grow it, and just about every other question I could answer about it. So I created a wheatgrass eBook and offered it as the "bribe" for people to signup to my list. It was an interesting test, and in the end I was averaging 1 to 2 people a day who would sign up.

So what have you tried as your "bribe" and how well did it work?

Well, i was member of a UK based review site before. This site used to offer a dollar for every product reviews i make and some cents on every people like or comment on my review. It also offer $1 for every friend signed up and participate on their program under my invitation. Thus, i emailed all the people in my network and ask them to join the program under me and in return will give the some cellphone loads or xxx video. The cellphone load wasn't really a hit, but the video... darn i got overflowing support from people i don't personally know.

Traffic in mass . com helped get about how many visitors i wanted under 12 hours, i do recommend this to any web entrepreneur !
