Build a Relationship with (Dazzle) Your List!

Anyone who visits your website is a potential customer. It is your job to give your visitor a persuasive motive for taking action. I know, there it is, that all important taking action again. (yawn) But believe it or not a lot of people think that “LUCK” is the defining factor to Making Money Online!

If that is the case, it is because we make our own luck! What we need is a complete understanding of what makes this business function, and then we have to be ready to put in some (actually a lot) of hard work!

Off line businesses also require a lot of hard word to get on their feet; the difference is that off line business require substantially more money to get started.

Off line businesses require a customer base before they really start to show a profit, and so do we! Our customer base (in internet marketing jargon) is called our “LIST.”

Your list must be made up of potential customers interested in your niche (an area of the market specializing in one type of product or service). We must then invest some time building a relationship with this “List” You must listen to their needs and then cater to those needs by introducing them to the products they need.

The other day the water in my swimming pool turned green (Pea Soup)because I neglected to add chlorine to it. After all who thinks of those things in the middle of the winter? I had noticed that there was a new swimming pool supply store that was closer to my house than the one I had been frequenting. I decided to give it a try. What if when I entered the store and asked for chlorine, the new shop owner got in my face and stated yelling Buy this now! BUY! Buy! Buy! I would have left immediately never to return. But because he catered to my needs – I will return and my next purchase won’t be just for chlorine it will probably be for a automatic pool vacuum or some other more expensive item!

An online business is also a store and if you want to make money you will have to treat it as such. Let’s compare it to dating; first you get to know each other you don’t just walk up to someone and say "Marry me right now!"

Building a web business is the same.
Date your visitors! (Metaphorically that is...)!
Make them feel special.
Seduce them.
Dazzle them.
Reply to their emails.

Offer a wonderful FREE gift as an incentive to get them to join your list -- send an unadvertised bonus after they sign up - communicate with them.

Does it take more work? Yes. Most certainly it does. But not that much more. A few weeks -- a month at the most. And then when the time comes to introduce a PAID product -- your list will already be 'warmed' up to you -- resulting in them being a LOT more responsive.
Do this and you will be well on your way to making money online.

Great Post Tony,yes that's true about treating the customers on your list as people to many Internet Marketers just sell,sell,sell by sending sales Emails all the time and no content, Nothing more anoying then being constantly sold to.

Fantastic post Tony. And you even demonstrated the power of telling "stories". That's a big help in building the relationship with potential customers through email marketing.
